JAF KITCHEN 2015
Joan Agha Foundation held its sixth edition of JAF kitchen on January 1, 2015 . This initiative is one of the missions of JAF in touching people’s lives and building the nation. JAF kitchen is a feeding initiative where the foundation celebrates with fellow Nigerians by preparing and sharing a gratifying meal on the first day of every year. Over the years the Foundation has fed 3860 people from different communities in Lagos.
January 1, 2015 was not an exception; the Foundation in its tradition of co-celebrating with fellow Nigerians fed 400 people in Oniru community and its environs. Each pack consisted of rice and meat, bottled water, bottled drink and chocolate cookies in a customised JAF nylon.
The President (Mrs. Joan Agha) led volunteers from Festac community to distribute the packed food in Oniru community and its environs. Beneficiaries who have been expecting the gift received it with joy and appreciation to the wonderful work the Foundation has been doing over the years.
When distributing the food, some beneficiaries were violent because they felt the food pack will not get to them. This reiterate that the Foundation needs support from both cooperate bodies and individuals to increase the provision of food items to avert such happening subsequently.
The 2015 edition of JAF kitchen was a huge success but it also came with challenges, clearer vision and amendments, a sustained standard and bench mark for subsequent editions.
